Anxiety in Women: Symptoms, Causes, and Strategies for Coping
Anxiety is on the rise for many women.
Ladies, let's be real-life can be stressful. Whether it's work, family, relationships, or the fact that we're trying to balance so much, it's no wonder we're all feeling a little on edge these days. But did you know that anxiety is on the rise among women and teen girls and in general, affects women more than men? Yep, apparently, we're all feeling like we're just one missed deadline away from a full-blown panic attack.
Anxiety can be a real pain in the you-know-what. We've all been there, lying awake at night, heart racing, mind racing, going through tomorrow's to-do list. As someone who has dealt with anxiety myself, I know how hard it can be.
So if you're one of the millions of women out there dealing with anxiety, know that you're not alone. It's okay to feel scared, overwhelmed, or like you don't have it all figured out. But there are things you can do to manage your anxiety and take back the joy you once had.
One thing that's helped me is practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation. One of my favorite strategies is putting on a 5-10 minute calming meditation. I love that I can do this from anywhere as long as I have my phone! Another really effective strategy is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, which helps us identify and challenge negative thought patterns.

The exact cause in women is not known; however, there are several potential factors that may contribute to its development. It is important to note that anxiety can also be caused by a combination of these factors.
