Shelly Wold, PSY.D.

Dr. Wold is a licensed clinical psychologist who enjoys working with children, teens, and adults at Thought Partners. She has particular expertise in women’s and parenting issues, especially related to parents of children with behavioral challenges and neurodiversity. Dr. Wold also often works with women experiencing postpartum issues as well as those struggling with infertility. She uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help her clients connect to what is most important to them to find vitality and move towards a rich, meaningful life. Dr. Wold encourages her clients to find those moments of joy in life, despite the challenges life brings in a deeply compassionate manner. She uses creative methods to help clients who are stuck by finding a new way forward. She is also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based practices.

Dr. Wold enjoys working with a variety of presentations including anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, parenting, teen angst, neurodiversity, and helps her clients use self-compassion to foster resiliency, self-worth, and contentment. In her work, Dr. Wold focuses on building deep and genuine relationships with her clients and believes that change, healing, and joy are all possible. She loves to be a partner in her client’s process as they move towards a meaningful, values-based life.

Dr. Wold graduated with her doctorate in clinical psychology (Psy.D) from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA in 2017. 

When not providing therapy, you can find Dr. Wold spending time with her family in Marin, going on hikes, trips to the beach, traveling, and finding small moments of joy wherever they may be.
